Alfa Laval, a leading player in heat exchange, centrifugal separation and fluid handling, has announced it has landed a contract worth approximately €8 million to supply a Chinese factory with two process lines for refining edible oil.
The order involves engineering and supplying several types of equipment, such as separators and heat exchangers, among others, which are to be used at different stages of the process for refining soybean and corn oils.
Lars Renström, CEO of Alfa Laval, welcomed the contract, stating “I am very pleased to announce a new order for the food sector. Food has always been an important part of our business and we see good opportunities also in the future.”
According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, China is the fourth largest global producer of soybeans after the United States, Brazil and Argentina.
