Alfa Laval, a world leader in heat transfer, separation and fluid handling, has announced it has been awarded a contract with one of India’s leading international groups in the brewing industry.

The order, to the tune of around €6.5million, is scheduled to be delivered in 2016 and was placed with Alfa Laval’s Food Service Technology & Life segment. The order consists of a complete production line, comprising separators, heat exchangers, mixers and fluid handling equipment. The new process line is intended, inter alia, for use in the fermentation, filtering, maturation and handling of yeast.

According to the company, upon completion of the installation process, the brewery will be the first in India to use the company’s mixing technology, which is designed to reduce the fermentation time.

Lars Renström, President and CEO of the group, revealed that the order was intriguing, stating “This order is interesting in many ways since it involves a unique technology, a complete process line and also one of the major players in the brewery industry. It proves our position as a reliable supplier.”
