Alfa Laval, a world leader in heat transfer, announced in a press release it has won a contract to supply air heat exchangers to a Spanish refinery. The order, which is scheduled to be delivered in 2016 by Alfa Laval’s Energy & Process Service, is worth approximately €7 million.
The air heat exchangers ordered through the deal will be used in the refinement process which converts low-quality heavy gas oil into high-quality, clean-burning jet fuel, diesel and gasoline. The new exchangers will have the effect of modernizing the refinery equipment and will replace the existing non-Alfa Laval equipment.
Lars Renström, the president and CEO of Alfa Laval, commented on the news, stating “I am very pleased to announce this modernization drive, for which our equipment was chosen for its endurance in applications with high pressures and temperatures. This order proves that customers in the refinery sector see the reliability of our products and recognize that they are perfect for their demanding applications. “
