Mitsubushi Electric launch Direct Robot Control

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Mitsubishi Electric, a Japanese automation engineer, has developed the new Direct Robot Control function for its M8 digital controls (CNC). A single interface allows integrated management of the machine tool and the robot, without any hardware modifications or specific skills.

With this new Direct Robot Control function, operators can program the robot directly using the CNC interface in a single language, G-code. To be an effective solution for operations such as deburring or loading and unloading, the Japanese manufacturer has emphasized its simplicity of use.

No hardware modification is necessary for the implementation of the system. Indeed the company proudly boasts that a connection from the machine to the digital command and the robot to an Ethernet cable is all that’s needed. To activate the equipment management, the security functions are then connected.

The other advantage offered by this solution lies in the possibility of creating personalized screens for diagnostics and the management of the robot directly from the interface of the CNC controller, thereby reducing maintenance costs and optimizing operating times.
