Siemens to invest in Egypt?

Cleantechnica.com have reported that the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity are currently considering a proposal put forward by the German company Siemens to invest 10 billion euros in Egypt with the aim of installing 10 GW of renewable energy capacity in the country.

The ministry has set up a special committee to study the proposal, but details have not yet emerged about the technologies Siemens plan to use for this project.

This is not the only renewable energy project led by Siemens in Egypt: the group has already installed 2 GW of wind power for 2 billion euros, spread across 12 different projects. It is expected that the project will be completed by 2022 and will provide 600 wind turbines.
