Ademe publish waste heat recovery guide

The French Agency for Environment and Energy Management has just put online a short document promoting waste heat recovery in industry. The two-page document summarizes in brief the challenges of recovering industrial waste heat, and informs stakeholders on the different types of funding available through the French heat fund. The heat fund is a mechanism which was set up in 2009 to support projects designed to generate heat from renewable energy and recovery (RE & R): geothermal, biomass, solar thermal energy etc. In 2017, it is anticipated that the heat fund will reach €420M. ADEME supports all industrial energy recovery projects, providing funding for up to 50% for feasibility studies and up to 60% in the case of investments. This guide is therefore a useful tool for companies to keep abreast of the mechanisms in place for obtaining funding and ADEME hope that their guide will encourage industry to consider investing in waste heat recovery systems.
