Fujitsu launch new large volume data storage solution

Fujitsu have launched their new storage solution Eternus which is designed to manage large volumes of data. It is defined by software using the Eternus Data Services Platform (DSP) software and has been designed to reduce the burden of storage administration by 70%, standardize the costs of managing the life cycle of the system, simplify maintenance as well as delivering a rapid and flexible expansion of storage. The hardware provides a storage environment with increased capacity for processing performance and media drives, integrating the most recent technologies through the use of x86 servers. Eternus DSP can adapt to the changing needs of users. The solution can start with a minimum of 3 nodes and 60 terabytes of storage and extend to up to 32 nodes and around 3 petabytes. The system enables autonomous and automated operations andcan monitor storage usage and load bias per node. It independently controls the relocation as well as the distribution of data to other nodes. If many companies or several departments of a company use the same storage system, all the data of each user having access to it and the rights of access to it are controlled. This allows each user to securely manage their own data. The solution gives users the possibility of dividing large investments into several small projects. It allows nodes to be replaced sequentially, depending on when they are deployed. Adding new nodes directly to the storage environment is also possible, without disrupting services and systems.
