Alfa Laval, a world leader in heat transfer, separation and fluid handling, has announced that it has landed a contract to supply air coolers to an American power plant. The order, which is due to be delivered in 2016 by Alfa Laval’s Energy & Process segment, is valued at €6.5 million. The coolers are designed to cool the lubricating oil of the turbines, and to remove excess heat from the turbine in the gas-fired plant. Lars Renström, the president and CEO of Alfa Laval, commented on the news, stating " This is yet another large order and this time from the power industry. It confirms our strong position as a supplier of reliable equipment to this sector" Gas power plants are rapidly taking precedence over coal plants in the US, as the coal-based plants result in much more pollution.
