French ministry launch business incubator

Segolene Royal, the French minister of Ecology and Emmanuel Macron,  the French Economy minister launched an appeal on Tuesday, February 9th for GreenTech projects linked to saving energy, biodiversity and environmental health. The goal of the appeal is to develop fourteen new innovative ecological transition services. The two ministers have targeted eight themes: energy saving, renewable energy, construction, transport, risks, circular economy, health, environment and biodiversity. The Ministry of Ecology's business incubator will accommodate fifty startups offering solutions that meet the goals of the energy transition and biodiversity law as required under a recent act . The selection process will include events organized by the Ministry (such as hackathons, innovative competition, etc.) and by a jury chaired by Ségolène Royal and personalities from the fields of ecology and digital transformation. "Five projects proposed by students will also integrate the incubator for nine months," said the government. Each retaining startups will be supported with € 150,000 (pre-seed fund). "The most promising projects will receive a second financing of up to 500,000 euros," the Government. They will receive technical resources of the department and its operators (engineering schools, ADEME, IGN, Météo-France, MNHN, etc.)
